British car manufacturer Land Rover has just announced a new petrol engine, set to make its debut in the very near future.

If you have been following the news lately, then you are already aware of everything going on with Jaguar Land Rover in the recent past. Not only did the brand discontinue one of its iconic models, the Defender, but it has also revealed a lot of exciting plans for the future.

Although we don’t expect the Defender’s replacement for another couple of years, the brand has just announced its new line of Ingenium petrol engines.

Scheduled to become available starting next year, the new petrol engines are said to be capable of delivering 25% more power whilst consuming 15% less fuel. This is fantastic news for fans of the brand, as well as the industry as a whole.

There has been a lot of talk lately about fuel economy and emissions, following the Volkswagen “Dieselgate” scandal. Brands are becoming more conscious about their powertrains, which is slowly transforming the market as a whole. It’s interesting to see what each manufacturer has to bring to table, which is why the next couple of years will be very interesting.

Jaguar Land Rover isn’t necessarily known for being eco-friendly; however, more power and better fuel economy will likely entice many people to consider purchasing one of the brand’s cars.

With a line-up of many intriguing vehicles, the future indeed looks rather bright for Jaguar Land Rover. The Defender’s replacement is due in a couple of years, so investing in new engines is a good idea.

If the brand can produce a car as iconic as the Defender whilst introducing a new powerful engine at the same time, we could be looking at a true winner.

Don’t go looking for a car valuation just yet. The new “Defender” is still a couple of years away, so it’s definitely too soon to sell your car in hopes of getting your hands on the new model.
